While Rodders carried on snoozing I nodded off for a bit myself. We both woke up and went in to the garden so he could piddle and poo and then it was bathroom time.
Like yesterday, I smeared some Dairylea in to his Kong and Rodders was very happy chasing this around the floor while I got washed and went to get my clothes. Result! I can get washed and dressed in peace :-)
We had a play in the garden with him fetching his squeaky toy until he got bored and had a piddle (not sure if that is boredom) and then got ready to go out. He wasn't so happy in the car today even though I had given him a puppy treat) so I drove around for a bit until he settled. We then went to Queens Square where there is a few shops for me to look in the window and a pet shop to investigate. He was happy to see me but didn't make any move to get out of his car crate. I talked to him for a little while and then lifted him out. We wandered about looking in shop windows and he was shaking a little. When he stopped we headed for the pet shop, what an emporium that is! Fish, rabbits, rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs, birds, lizards, snakes, chinchilla's and tortoises which I didn't think you could sell any more. Lots of noises for Rodders to get used to and he got a fuss as I was paying for some treats for him.
After another wander, and a fuss from a passerby, we got back in the car, giving him another puppy treat. He wasn't happy and created like he did on Friday night. I drove around for a while talking to him, changing the channel on the radio to music, until he stopped making a noise and then came home. I have been putting him in his bed on top of the snuggle fleece. Think maybe I need to try putting him half under it. Maybe the budgie trick will work.
Straight in to the garden for a run about, a piddle, and lots of fuss. Back in to the conservatory where he was happy to play by himself until he asked to go out. In, out, in, out - maybe I should leave the door open as it is another lovely day. He came in and was playing happily for a while then got a bit bored so I played with him until he started biting my leg (well, my jeans) and I had to take myself off behind the baby gate. He yelped, as if to say come play with me, and then toddled off..... In to the garden where he is happily playing now!
