On the way back we stopped to chat with the hotel manager and she came out to have a play with Rodders in reception. He is quite good with her and doesn't mind her picking him up for a snuggle.
Back in our room OH added the extra's to Rodders bowl and he wolfed it down! He was then happy to snuggle up on the floor beside OH until our friend arrived. This was the first time she had met Rodders and she thought he was very cute. Once OH got Rodders playing she was laughing at the way he bounds after his toys. He did let her give him a fuss too.
Once she left us he settled back on to snuggle fleece until it was time for bed. I took him out in to the garden for a final piddle and then popped him in his crate with some treats. As soon as we were in bed, with the lights out, he started to whimper so OH went in beside him for a little while talking gently too him. It was almost midnight before he dropped off to sleep.
